Partnership Day 2025: Collaboration Between PT SUN and Ubaya
Surabaya, August 8, 2025 – The University of Surabaya (Ubaya) held the Ubaya Partnership Day at the Tenggilis Campus. One of the participating partners was PT Synergy Ultima Nobilus (PT SUN).
Internship Program for Accounting Students
This collaboration began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ubaya and its strategic partners as an initial agreement. The next stage was followed by a more detailed Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). Finally, the agreement was formalized through the Implementation Agreement (IA), which is technical and operational in nature.
The signing of the Implementation Agreement (IA) with Ubaya reaffirms PT SUN’s commitment to supporting the regeneration of young talent, especially in the field of accounting. With this step, PT SUN joins the list of over 100 partner companies that have collaborated with Ubaya. The goal is to foster an innovation ecosystem across multiple sectors: food, health, energy, and financial literacy.
As part of this collaboration, PT SUN welcomed three undergraduate accounting students from Ubaya to join the internship program during the Spring Semester 2024/2025. This program gives students the opportunity to apply accounting theory in an industry setting. In addition, they gain professional experience and build skills relevant to the job market.

- [LIFE] Life Science Integrated Facilities – an integrated laboratory open for collaboration with the industry.
- Energy Resilience Center – currently in preparation stage, established to support the national energy independence agenda.
- SolarPreneur Development Center – a program planned to launch in 2025 to foster solar energy entrepreneurship.
- Financial Literacy Program – addressing public concerns about online loans (fintech lending) and consumerist lifestyles.
Insights from Practitioners & Industry Leaders
Partnership Day also featured short seminars with speakers from both the public sector and business world. Among them were the Head of the East Java Provincial Office of Community and Village Empowerment (DPMD), Budi Sarwoto, and the Chairman of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) East Java, Eddy Widjanarko. They shared insights on community empowerment, the world of work, and opportunities for synergy between universities and industry.
Towards an Integrated Innovation Ecosystem
Through these programs, Ubaya not only expands its partner network but also builds an integrated innovation ecosystem. This initiative is expected to produce outstanding talents and research that can be commercialized, bringing real benefits to society and supporting sustainable development.
