A Three-Day Journey into Mandarin Class

Mandarin class was important not only for expanding language skills but also for enhancing professional capabilities in the workplace. Synergy hold a Mandarin language class that ran for three non-consecutive days—May 2, 3, and 5, 2025.

The session welcomed employees from different divisions who were genuinely eager to dive into a new language. For many, it was their first structured exposure to Mandarin, which made the experience even more meaningful. They were curious not just about the language, but also the culture behind it.

Getting Closer to Mandarin class

The training was designed not just to teach the language but also to help employees gain cultural insights. With China’s growing role in global business, the ability to understand basic Mandarin has become increasingly relevant—even in day-to-day professional interactions. It could also be useful in international client meetings, supplier communication, or simply building better rapport across cultures.

Learning the Basics Step by Step

On the first day, participants were introduced to the basics of Mandarin characters and how to read them. The session also covered pronunciation techniques to ensure they could follow along with native speakers more easily.

The second day focused on writing. Employees were taught how to form characters using correct stroke orders. This hands-on approach helped build both memory and muscle coordination, especially for those completely new to the writing system.

The third day brought a creative twist. Participants practiced speaking common Mandarin phrases, which could be useful in casual or business conversations. Later in the session, they were invited to sing a simple Mandarin song together.
