Influence Grows from Trust, Not Just Position
Influence grows through consistent actions, genuine empathy, and the ability to build trust in every workplace interaction. Talking about influence doesn’t need to feel heavy. Sometimes, it simply starts with how we genuinely listen and respond to others.
That spirit set the tone for an internal sharing session titled The Principle of Power (The Power to Influence People), which took place on September 20, 2024. This session was part of Synergy’s ongoing personal development initiative to support better workplace interactions.
The sharing was designed to help participants understand the basic concept of influence in a professional setting. The content was delivered in a casual yet practical way, making it easy to understand for everyone—from senior employees to junior staff, including interns and recent hires. As a result, all attendees felt included and connected to the topic.
When trust is present, influence grows naturally
Although the topic had theoretical roots, it stayed close to real workplace dynamics. Participants were invited to reflect on their own communication styles and how they affected collaboration in different scenarios, including disagreements or work pressure.
The facilitator shared simple case studies that emphasized trust as the core of real influence—not dominance. The discussion evolved naturally, highlighting how each person could create a more supportive work environment with clearer, more intentional communication. Whether it involved sharing ideas, handling conflict, or simply respecting each other’s voice, the insights felt practical and real.
Sharing That Feels Like a Conversation
Throughout the session, participants openly shared their struggles in expressing ideas or building collaboration. This proved that influence isn’t just a leadership topic—it’s a relevant skill for nearly every job. It also plays a big part in helping teams work better together and reach shared goals.
To close the session, the facilitator reminded everyone that influence doesn’t require a title. In fact, some of the most powerful influence comes from sincerity, consistency, and active listening. Because of its impact, Synergy plans to continue holding sessions like this—creating space for grounded, relevant, and people-first learning across the team.
