Financial Statement Compilation Services

Compilation Services involve the preparation of financial statements in line with SPJ 4410. Balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes in equity, cash flow statement, and accompanying notes are all prepared in accordance to SAK EP. The completeness of transaction evidence and accounting policies remain the sole responsibility of the client.

In compliance with SPJ 4410, compilation services refer to the process of assembling financial statements, whereby financial information is compiled into a complete set of financial reports for a specified reporting period. The process is based on the extent of transactional evidence and other relevant documents in alignment with existing accounting policies, for which the client assumes full responsibility.

Accordingly, it is of utmost importance that the engaging party – namely, the client, formally agrees in advance on the specific procedures to be performed by the practitioner. In this service, the assumption holds that the client possesses the best understanding of their own situation, needs and priorities. In line with this, the responsibility for determining the sufficiency of the procedures rests with the client’s management and not with the practitioner.

The procedures performed follow an audit-style approach, in which practitioners are expected to deliver consistent and reasonable findings, grounded by sufficient evidence to enable fact-based interpretation from the reports.
